Press Release by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform Administration - 26 April 2022
On 26 April 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR) issued a press release stating that they have been receiving continuous complaints suggesting corruption, fraud and misconduct by officials, possible beneficiaries and other parties in relation to land acquisition, allotment and procurement.
The MAWLR has invited members of the public who have solid proof of evidence against officials to report it to the Ministry in writing. This would need to contain the depositor's contact details and be signed. Hereto, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) Namibia has questioned the Ministry on what protection they will offer the whistleblowers, seeing as there is no operational whistleblower law in Namibia.
