Museums Association of Namibia
The Museums Association of Namibia will strive to ensure that Museums in Namibia will be inclusive educational resources that make a significant contribution to nation-building and achieving the goals of the Harambee Prosperity Plan and Vision2030. Museums will be important educational resources and forums that serve as cultural contact zones and windows on the wider world.
A network of museums (including art galleries, cultural villages, archives and other institutions tasked with safeguarding Namibia’s heritage) will serve every region of Namibia. Members of this network will collaborate to increase the quality of their services and products. Museums will provide access to knowledge –focusing on our unique tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage.
Museums will involve the communities that they serve in both the governance and processes of exhibition planning and museum making. Museums will serve both as centres of creativity and dialogue for Namibians as well as tourist attractions thate ncourage visitors to travel to all corners of ourbeautiful nation.
