OVERVIEW

The Havana Soup Kitchen is created for vulnerable children of Havana (Havana is part of Katutura in Windhoek). In the beginning, we provide daily meals for 40 kids – breakfast and lunch. We also teach the children and prepare them for school. We started on the 2nd of June 2010.

The second part of the project is to create a platform for teaching the parents self-sustaining activities. This could be the production of soap, bread, toys or flower pots made from newspaper. With this project, we want to empower the children to get self-confidence and we want to help the families to become self-subsistent.

The Havana Soup Kitchen is the first part of the program which is called Bet-osyan (Basic Education and Teaching for Out of School Youth and Adults in Namibia).
