The Minister of Justice has extended an invitation to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in light of the imminent proposed amendments to the divorce bill law. A targeted stakeholder consultation is scheduled to place on 22 June 2022 from 09:00 to 11:00.

The purpose of the engagement is for stakeholders to provide their contribution to the current bill if they have any additions or reservations in relation to particular provisions which greatly affect the execution of their mandates.

The consultation will further provide a platform to identify any challenges and defects in the bill before it is submitted to the drafters.

The below-linked Proposed Divorce Law and Policy briefly sets out the policy and narrates the contextual background of the existing law. The document further succinctly explains the clauses of the divorce bill.
