The Namibian Journal of Social Justice (NJSJ), Volume 1 was published by the Economic and Social Justice Trust (ESJT) and launched on the 3rd August 2021. The first volume of the NJSJ addresses Namibia's housing crisis.
The editorial of the NJSJ outlines: In this inaugural edition of the Namibian Journal of Social Justice we focus on the festering problem of inequitable access to urban housing in Namibia. We place housing justice in the context of social justice and the realisation of social, economic, and cultural rights. As is the case with other socio-economic issues, the way we frame the housing crisis will determine the solutions we find for it.
The seed funding for the inaugural edition of the NJSJ (and its website) was provided by the Integrated Land Management Institute (ILMI) at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). Similarly, the publication and printing of the NJSJ was enabled through the support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Namibia Office.
