The U.S. Embassy has flagged a few details about upcoming Climate Change Small Grants from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES). The deadline for southern Africa submissions is 12 May.
Details:
- Small grant proposals must focus on renewable energies and/or sustainable landscapes.
- Proposed grant activities can include public diplomacy outreach elements, but the main focus should be on capacity building and stakeholder and technical engagement to support national or regional climate goals.
- The suggested proposal amount is likely to be between US$75K and US$100K but lower-level proposals will be considered.
- There will be a template for the grant proposals as well as guidelines for using metrics that also speak to climate performance indicators and advancing gender equity.
