SOS Namibia's strategy is to ensure the best care of children, innovate, and unite more partners so that no child grows up alone.
Almost 70 years of experience supporting children without parental care, and those at risk of losing it, have given SOS Namibia a deep understanding of how to care for children who need someone and how to help prevent the breakdown of parental care. SOS Namibia does this through innovative and effective partnerships with donors, communities, governments and other organisations.
SOS Namibia's Strategy 2030 helps them to respond to the changing needs in the communities where they work, putting the most disadvantaged children at the centre of all our actions. Their strategy directly relates and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals in key areas such as poverty, inequality, education, health, social and child protection, and decent work.
SOS Namibia Programmes:
1. Family strengthening programmes were set up in informal settlements to prevent family separation for children who are at risk of losing parental care. SOS Namibia works in cooperation with local authorities and other community-based organisations to empower families and communities to effectively protect and care for their children.
2. Family care programmes - SOS Namibia is committed to providing necessary basic needs for children and ensures the normal development of all children it serves. Some of the care services SOS provides for the children and young people in care are - early childhood development, youth development, education, capacity building to staff and care workers, sport and recreation, and psychological support.
