Office of the President, NPC - Invitation to the Launch of the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) Process - 22 June 2023
The National Planning Commission (NPC) is commencing the formulation of the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP 6) following the completion of NDP5 in March 2022. The NPC has received approval from the Cabinet to prioritize the implementation of the Harambee Prosperity Plan (HPPIl) and Extended NDP5 for the period 2022/2023 - 2024/2025, with HPPII serving as the Development Framework.
To inform the nation about the current development framework and initiate the formulation process of NDP6, the NPC conducted a joint media briefing with the Ministry of Information and Technology on 27 March 2023. The formulation of NDP6 will span two financial years, 2023/2024 - 2024/2025, allowing for extensive stakeholder consultations and citizen participation.
The NPC is hosting a launch event on 22 June 2023 at the NAMPOWER CONVENTION CENTRE at 09h00 to raise awareness about this national document and mark the beginning of the NDP6 formulation process. The participation of civil society organisations (CSOs), up to 5 representatives, is requested. The NPC values the contributions of stakeholders in developing a comprehensive national document that aligns with Vision 2030.
