The Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) currently has an open Call for Proposals;  approved for funding by the Green Climate Fund entitled “Building resilience of communities living in landscapes threatened under climate change through an ecosystem-based adaptation approach’’ (SAP006-EbA Project). The EIF is the accredited entity for the project. Deadline for applications: 13 May 2022 at 17h00.

Applications for the African Civic Engagement Academy (ACEA) 2022 are open till 22 April. Supported by the US Department of State, ACEA is a free online training program and networking opportunity for selected mid-career civil society and public leaders across sub-Saharan Africa.

On 30 March 2022, the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) hosted a Housing Symposium themed "Towards an Affordable Housing Ecosystem in Namibia". The EAN is a Think Tank conducting research and providing public policy advisory services. 

On 31 March 2022, the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare (MGEPESW) officially launched the Social Protection Policy 2021-2030. The Social Protection Policy is anchored on Article 95 of Namibia’s Constitution, which compels the Government to actively promote equal opportunity and the well-being of all citizens.

The Nambia Housing Action Group (NHAG) & Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN) recently released their annual report for 2020/2021. Until June 2021 SDFN/NHAG have built an overall of 6,865 brick houses, each of them with its own toilet and water connection.
